THE CLIENT
Benugo is a British catering company striving to provide good quality coffee, fresh food and a friendly hospitality experience.
After years of nurturing direct trade relationships with all their farmers and cooperatives, they made the decision to introduce their in-house blend, with a constant focus on minimising the environmental impact throughout the process.
THE OBJECTIVES
Create a packaging design:
Complementing the quality of the product and service, working as an added value compared to its competitors.
Embracing a love for coffee and promoting sustainable coffee culture, from bean to cup.
Clearly communicating to the consumer around planet-friendly issues, such as sustainable ingredient sourcing and how to recycle after use.
THE SOLUTION
Despite employing a nearly identical colour palette, two unique designs were crafted for this project. The first design blends photography and illustration, offering product information in an engaging and playful manner while showcasing the coffee journey.
The second design, chosen for its versatility in adapting to various formats, takes a more classic approach by simplifying plant elements to underscore the natural and ingredient-focused aspects of the product. To accentuate the pattern, vibrant orange labels were incorporated on top to create a striking contrast with the green hues and maximise on-shelf impact.
To follow Benugo’s devotion to sustainable living, beans were packed in unique pillow bags made from used sugarcane with no aluminium foil.
