THE CLIENT

Khyle, Head of Coffee at Benugo is a passionate barista and one colourful character with a true love for what he does. His plans to develop a cold brew range for the Benugo brand were initially postponed indefinitely due to the pandemic, eventually leading to their cancellation.

Since my initial sketches didn’t find a purpose, I decided to give them a new one and keep going. Consider this: what if Khyle were to launch his own brand?

THE OBJECTIVES

  • Introducing unique and creative cold brew blends or flavours to stand out in the market and attract discerning coffee enthusiasts.

  • Incorporating sustainable practices throughout the supply chain, such as sourcing ethically grown coffee beans and using eco-friendly packaging.

  • Reflecting Khyle's passion and expertise in every aspect of the brand to establish genuine connections with consumers.


THE SOLUTION

All visual elements come together to embody the brand’s commitment to quality and tradition with a playful twist. The label designs bring each type of coffee to life with whimsical portrait illustrations paired with a lowercase chunky typography, adding an approachable quality to the design.

Through playful hand-drawn lines and an engaging persona, Khyle emerges as a vibrant mascot, setting a tone of authenticity for the brand narrative. His friendly and funky attitude perfectly captures the essence of his unpretentious yet quality-driven products.

Beyond showcasing the craftsmanship of the beverage, Khyle will also become a reliable guide, leading consumers to trust and love the products as much as he does.
